Section 1433 of the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 ( 7 U.S.C. 3195 ) is amended by striking the section designation and heading and all that follows through subsection
(a)and inserting the following: There are authorized to be appropriated to support continuing animal health and disease research programs at eligible institutions such sums as are necessary, but not to exceed $25,000,000 for each of fiscal years 1991 through 2018. Funds made available under this section shall be used— to meet the expenses of conducting animal health and disease research, publishing and disseminating the results of such research, and contributing to the retirement of employees subject to the Act of March 4, 1940 ( 7 U.S.C. 331 ); for administrative planning and direction; and to purchase equipment and supplies necessary for conducting research described in subparagraph (A). .
