Sec. 403. Report on plausibility of expanding sanctions on Iranian oil

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the President shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report assessing the following: Whether petroleum and petroleum products originating in and exported from Iran are refined and sold outside of Iran. Whether products that contain Iranian-origin petroleum or petroleum products as part of their contents are imported into the United States and, if any such products are imported into the United States, whether such importation violates the ban on importation into the United States of Iranian-origin petroleum or petroleum products.
Whether it is feasible to ban the importation into the United States of products described in paragraph (2), regardless of whether the ban on importation into the United States of Iranian-origin petroleum or petroleum products applies to such products. The report required under subsection
(a)may be based on publicly-available information and classified information. The information that is not classified information shall be made publically available. In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Financial Services, and the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on Foreign Relations, the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, and the Committee on Finance of the Senate.
