Section 222 of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 422 ) is amended by inserting before subsection
(c)the following: The Commissioner of Social Security may make provision for the referral of individuals who are denied benefits under this title based on an adverse determination of disability to an appropriate public or private entity for employment services, vocational rehabilitation services, or other support services. . Section 1615 of such Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1382d ) is amended by inserting after subsection
(a)the following: In the case of any individual who has not attained age 65 and is denied benefits under this title based on an adverse determination of disability, the Commissioner of Social Security may make provision for referral of such individual to an appropriate public or private entity for employment services, vocational rehabilitation services, or other support services. . The amendments made by subsections
(a)and
(b)shall apply with respect to applications for monthly insurance benefits filed on or after the date that is 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.
