Section 916(a) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 ( 42 U.S.C. 16196(a) ) is amended to read as follows: The Secretary shall establish an Energy Efficiency Science Initiative to be managed by the Under Secretary for Science and Energy, for grants to be competitively awarded and subject to peer review for research relating to energy efficiency innovations. .
