Subsection
(b)of section 2364 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— in paragraph (3), by adding and after the semicolon; in paragraph (4)— by adding and issue between position and papers ; by striking combatant commands and inserting components of the Department of Defense ; and by striking ; and and inserting a period; and by striking paragraph (5). Subsection
(c)of such section is amended to read as follows: In this section, the term defense research facility means a Department of Defense facility which performs or contracts for the performance of— basic research; or applied research known as exploratory development. .
