Section 847 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 ( Public Law 110–181 ; 10 U.S.C. 1701 note) is amended— by redesignating subsection
(d)as subsection (e); and by inserting after subsection
(c)the following new subsection (d): The Secretary of Defense shall designate an official of the Department of Defense to ensure the compliance of this section. Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this subsection, such designated official shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the compliance of this section. .
