Sec. 734. Report on efforts to treat infertility of military families

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on what steps the Secretary is taking to ensure that members of the Armed Forces and the dependents of such members have access to reproductive counseling and a full spectrum of treatments for infertility, including in vitro fertilization. The report under subsection
(a)shall include the following: An assessment of treatment options available at military medical treatment facilities throughout the military health system. An identification of factors that might disrupt treatment, including availability of options, lack of timely access to treatment, change in duty station, or overseas deployments. The number of members of the Armed Forces who have used specific treatment options, including in vitro fertilization. The number of dependents of members who have used specific treatment options, including in vitro fertilization. An identification of non-Department of Defense treatment options for infertility that could benefit members and the dependents of members. Any other matters the Secretary determines appropriate.
