In the case that the Children’s Hospital GME Support Reauthorization Act of 2013 is enacted into law, the Comptroller General of the United States shall, not later than November 30, 2017, conduct an independent evaluation, and submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a report, concerning the implementation of section 340E(h) of the Public Health Service Act, as added by section 3 of the Children’s Hospital GME Support Reauthorization Act of 2013. The report described in subsection
(a)shall review and assess each of the following, with respect to hospitals receiving payments under such section 340E(h) during the period of fiscal years 2015 through 2017: The number and type of such hospitals that applied for such payments. The number and type of such hospitals receiving such payments. The amount of such payments awarded to such hospitals. How such hospitals used such payments. The impact of such payments on— the number of pediatric providers; and health care needs of children.
