Section 465(a) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 1087ee(a) ) is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph: For the purpose of this subsection, the term year of service where applied to service by a member of the Armed Forces described in paragraph (2)(D) means a qualified tour of duty that— is for 6 months or longer; or was less than 6 months because the member was discharged or released from active duty in the Armed Forces for an injury or disability incurred in or aggravated by service in the Armed Forces. .
