Section 421 of the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Act of 2006 ( Public Law 109–241 ; 120 Stat. 547) is amended— in subsection (b)— by amending paragraph

(1)to read as follows: Subsection

(a)only applies to a foreign citizen who holds a credential to serve as an officer on a fishing vessel or vessel of similar tonnage. ; and in paragraph (2), by striking An equivalent credential and inserting A credential ; and by striking subsections (c), (e), and

(f)and redesignating subsection

(d)as subsection (c).
