Sec. 1254. Report on Department of Defense munitions strategy of the United States Pacific Command

Not later than April 1, 2015, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the munitions strategy of the United States Pacific Command to address deficiencies in the ability of the United States Pacific Command to execute major operational plans. The report required by subsection
(a)shall include the following: An identification of current and projected critical munitions requirements, including as identified in the most-recent future-years defense program submitted to Congress by the Secretary of Defense pursuant to section 221 of title 10, United States Code. An assessment of— significant munitions gaps and deficiencies; and munitions capabilities and necessary munitions investments to address identified gaps and deficiencies. A description of current and planned munitions programs to address munitions gaps and deficiencies identified in paragraph (2), including with respect to— research, development, test, and evaluation efforts; cost, schedule, performance, and budget, to the extent such information is available; and known industrial base issues. An assessment of infrastructure deficiencies or needed enhancements to ensure adequate munitions storage and munitions deployment capability. Any other matters concerning the munitions strategy of the United States Pacific Command the Secretary of Defense determines to be appropriate. The report required by subsection
(a)may be submitted in classified or unclassified form.
