Subsection (b)(1) of section 1101 of the Strom Thurmond National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1999 ( 5 U.S.C. 3104 note) is amended— in subparagraph (A), by striking 60 scientific and engineering positions and inserting 100 scientific and engineering positions ; in subparagraph (B), by adding and at the end; by striking subparagraphs
(C)and (D); and by redesignating subparagraph
(E)as subparagraph (C). Subsection (c)(2) of such section is amended by striking the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and inserting the Department of Defense . Subsection
(d)of such section is amended— in paragraph (1), by striking 12-month period and inserting calendar year ; and in paragraph (2), by striking fiscal year and inserting calendar year . Subsection (e)(1) of such section is amended by striking September 30, 2016 and inserting September 30, 2019 .
