Section 702(e)(1) ( 50 U.S.C. 1881a(e)(1) ) is amended— by striking that meet and inserting the following: that— meet ; in subparagraph
(A)(as designated by paragraph
(1)of this section), by striking the period and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following new subparagraph: consistent with such definition, minimize the acquisition, and prohibit the retention and dissemination, of any communication as to which the sender and all intended recipients are determined to be located in the United States and prohibit the use of any discrete, non-target communication that is determined to be to or from a United States person or a person who appears to be located in the United States, except to protect against an immediate threat to human life. .
