It is the sense of the Congress that— in carrying out the non-kinetic counter-electronics developmental planning effort of the Air Force, the Secretary of Defense should consider the results of the successful joint technology capability demonstration that the counter-electronics high power microwave missile project conducted in 2012; an analysis of alternatives is an important step in the long-term development of a non-kinetic counter-electronic system; the Secretary should pursue both near- and far-term joint non-kinetic counter-electronic systems; and the counter-electronics high power microwave missile project (or a variant thereof) should be considered among the options for a possible materiel solution in response to any near-term joint urgent operational need, joint emergent operational need, or combatant command integrated priority for a non-kinetic counter-electronic system.
