Sec. 1249. Reports on international agreements relating to the Department of Defense

The Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of State, shall semi-annually submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a report on agreements described in subsection
(b)which have entered into force, have been amended, or have been terminated during the previous 6-month period and with respect to which such agreements were previously notified by the Secretary of State to the Congress pursuant to section 112b of title 1, United States Code (commonly known as the Case-Zablocki Act ). Agreements referred to in subsection
(a)are agreements relating to matters primarily or significantly related to or involving the Department of Defense, including, but not limited to— matters such as where the Department of Defense will carry out activities under the agreement; and matters such as where Department of Defense personnel are able to be present in a foreign country in light of the status protections, exemptions, and responsibilities afforded by the agreement. Nothing in this section shall be construed to supersede the requirements of section 112b of title 1, United States Code. This section shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act, and shall apply with respect to an agreement described in subsection
(b)on or after that date. The section shall terminate at the close of December 31, 2019.
