Section 902 of the Water Resources Development Act of 1986 ( 33 U.S.C. 2280 ) is amended— by striking In order to insure and inserting
(a); and In general.— In order to insure by adding at the end the following: Notwithstanding subsection (a), in accordance with section 5 of the Act entitled An Act authorizing the construction of certain public works on rivers and harbors for flood control, and for other purposes , approved June 22, 1936 ( 33 U.S.C. 701h ), the Secretary may accept funds from a non-Federal interest for any authorized water resources development project that has exceeded its maximum cost under subsection (a), and use such funds to carry out such project, if the use of such funds does not increase the Federal share of the cost of such project. .
