Sec. 5023. Authority to provide assistance

The Secretary and the Administrator may provide financial assistance under this subtitle to carry out pilot projects, which shall be selected to ensure a diversity of project types and geographical locations. The Secretary shall carry out all pilot projects under this subtitle that are eligible projects under section 5026(1). The Administrator shall carry out all pilot projects under this subtitle that are eligible projects under paragraphs (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), and
(8)of section 5026. The Secretary or the Administrator, as applicable, may carry out eligible projects under paragraph
(7)or
(9)of section 5026.
