Section 1408A of the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 ( 7 U.S.C. 3123a ) is amended— in subsection (b)— by striking Individuals and inserting the following: Individuals ; by striking Members and inserting the following: Members ; and by adding at the end the following: Membership of the specialty crops committee shall reflect diversity in the specialty crops represented. ; in subsection (c), by adding at the end the following: Analysis of alignment of specialty crop committee recommendations with specialty crop research initiative grants awarded under section 412(d) of the Agricultural Research, Extension, and Education Reform Act of 1998 (7 U.S.C. 7632). ; by redesignating subsections
(d)and
(e)as subsections
(e)and (f), respectively; by inserting after subsection
(c)the following: In studying the scope and effectiveness of programs under subsection (a), the specialty crops committee shall consult on an ongoing basis with diverse sectors of the specialty crop industry. ; and in subsection
(f)(as redesignated by paragraph (3)), by striking subsection
(d)and inserting subsection
