Section 1447B(a) of the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 ( 7 U.S.C. 3222b–2(a) ) is amended to read as follows: It is the intent of Congress to assist the land-grant colleges and universities in the insular areas in efforts to— acquire, alter, or repair facilities or relevant equipment necessary for conducting agricultural research; and support tropical and subtropical agricultural research, including pest and disease research. . Section 1447B of the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 ( 7 U.S.C. 3222b–2 ) is amended in the heading— by inserting after and support tropical and subtropical agricultural research ; and equipment by striking and inserting institutions . colleges and universities Section 1447B(d) of the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 ( 7 U.S.C. 3222b–2(d) ) is amended by striking 2012 and inserting 2018 .
