Section 501(a) of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 ( 50 U.S.C. 1861(a) ) is amended— in paragraph (1), by striking for an investigation and inserting related to a specific person that is the subject of an investigation ; and in paragraph (2)— in subparagraph (A), by striking ; and and inserting a semicolon; in subparagraph (B), by striking the period and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following new subparagraph: be conducted of a specific person or specific group of persons. .
