Section 9001 of the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 ( 7 U.S.C. 8101 ) is amended— in paragraph (6)— in subparagraph (C), by striking or ; in subparagraph (D), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; or ; and by adding at the end the following: renewable chemicals. ; in paragraph (7), by striking subparagraph
(A)and inserting the following: converts renewable biomass into biofuels, renewable chemicals, or biobased products; and ; in paragraph (11), by striking or compound and inserting , compound, or renewable chemical ; by redesignating paragraphs
(13)and
(14)as paragraphs
(14)and (15), respectively; and by inserting after paragraph
(12)the following: The term renewable chemical means a monomer, polymer, plastic, formulated product, or chemical substance produced from renewable biomass. .
