Sec. 701. Mental health assessments for members of the Armed Forces

Section 1074m of title 10, United States Code, is amended— in subsection (a)(1)— by redesignating subparagraph
(B)and
(C)as subparagraph
(C)and (D), respectively; and by inserting after subparagraph
(A)the following: Once during each 180-day period during which a member is deployed. ; and in subsection (c)(1)(A)— in clause (i), by striking ; and and inserting a semicolon; by redesignating clause
(ii)as clause (iii); and by inserting after clause
(i)the following: by personnel in deployed units whose responsibilities include providing unit health care services if such personnel are available and the use of such personnel for the assessments would not impair the capacity of such personnel to perform higher priority tasks; and . Section 1074m(a)(2) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking subparagraph
(B)and
(C)and inserting subparagraph
(C)and
(D).
