Sec. 1707. Coordination of efforts to prevent child marriage

The Administrator shall designate an official to lead and coordinate policies and programs of the Agency to prevent child marriage. In addition to the responsibilities described in subsection (a), the official designated under subsection
(a)shall— ensure that efforts to prevent child marriage are integrated into the relevant country and sector strategies prepared in accordance with sections 1018 and 1019; and collect and disseminate information on— best practices for preventing and reducing the incidence of child marriage; the incidence of child marriage in partner countries where the practice of child marriage is prevalent; and the relationship between prevalence of child marriage and the achievement of development goals. In carrying out the duties under this section, the official designated under subsection
(a)shall consult with a wide range of relevant stakeholders.
