Funds made available by Public Law 109–88 for carrying out activities authorized under section 417 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act ( 42 U.S.C. 5184 ) may be used until expended to provide assistance under section 417 of that Act to local governments in areas eligible to receive such assistance pursuant to a major disaster declaration by the President for Hurricane Sandy.
