Except for persons who register pursuant to section 16-103, a person who registers to vote shall provide an identifying document that establishes proof of location of residence. Any of the identifying documents prescribed in section 16-579, subsection A, paragraph 1 constitutes satisfactory proof of location of residence. Compliance with this section does not satisfy the residency requirements in section 16-101 or 16-593 and only constitutes confirmation of the address on the applicant's application at the time of registration.
A valid and unexpired Arizona driver license or nonoperating identification number that is properly verified by the county recorder satisfies the requirements of this section.
