The Secretary of State may establish a list of counties requesting to participate in the state uniform system based on the order of receipt of the resolution of a county governing body. After the Secretary of State has accepted a county in the state uniform system, a county may be eligible for reimbursement of 50 percent of the costs of a lease purchase agreement or contract of not more than eight years in length to purchase an electronic voting system established by the pilot project.
