26B-4-1003. Requirements for certain treatments for inmates.
(1)The department may not initiate any of the following procedures or treatments for an inmate:
(a)a cross-sex hormone treatment;
(b)a primary sex characteristic surgical procedure; or
(c)a secondary sex characteristic surgical procedure.
(2)Subject to Subsection
(1)and Section 63-14-45 , to treat an inmate's gender dysphoria and any co-occurring mental health disorder, the department may provide psychotherapy, mental health care, or any other necessary and appropriate treatment.
