17-63-1101. Profit from public funds prohibited.
(1)If the governing body receives evidence that a county officer or county employee is profiting from public money or uses public money for any unauthorized purpose, the matter shall be promptly referred to the county attorney or district attorney for appropriate action.
(a)If convicted for any offense described in Subsection
(1), a county officer shall immediately forfeit the county officer's office.
(b)The forfeiture of county office described in Subsection (2)(a) is in addition to any penalties that may apply and the provisions of Utah Constitution, Article XXII, Section 5.
