Chap. LVIII.— An Act for the relief of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore. April 2, 1830. *Be it enacted, &c., * That the Secretary of the Treasury cause to be paid unto the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, or to their authorizedPayment to them for money expended in defence of said city during the late war. agent, the sum of seven thousand four hundred and thirty-four dollars and fifty-three cents, in full for their claim against the United States, for money borrowed and expended by them, in defence of said city, during the late war.
Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted, *That said Secretary cause to beAlso, interest on said sum. paid, as aforesaid, interest on the sum mentioned in the preceding section, according to the provisions and regulations of “the act to authorizeAct of May 20, 1826, ch. 79. the payment of interest due to the city of Baltimore,” passed May the twentieth, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-six; and that said sum be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated. Approved, April 2, 1830.
