CHAP. 913.— An act to authorize the Secretary of the Interior to procure and submit to Congress a proposal for the sale to the United States of the western part of the Crow Indian Reservation, in Montana.September 25, 1890. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Crow Indian Reservation, Mont.Secretary of Interior to appoint Commission to negotiate for surrender or part of. That the Secretary of the Interior is authorized and directed to appoint a commission consisting of three discreet persons, whose duty it shall be to negotiate with the Crow Indians for a surrender to the United States of all that portion of the Reservation in Montana, or so much thereof *Post*, p. 1089.as they will consent to surrender, which is situated south of the Yellowstone River and west of the divide between Pryor Creek and Report.Clarks’ Fork River in said State, and to report to Congress the result of any such negotiation.
But no agreement for any such Limitation.Appropriation.surrender shall be valid until ratified by Congress. Sec. 2. That the sum of five thousand dollars, or so much thereof as is necessary, is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this act.
