CHAP. 859.— An act to provide for the enlargement of the dimensions of the wharf at Fortress Monroe.August 10, 1888. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Fortress Monroe, Va.Pier to be enlarged and to have iron beams.Vol. 24, p. 246. That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, authorized to cause the plans and specifications under which contract has been entered into by the United States for the construction of an iron wharf at Fortress Monroe, Virginia, to be amended and changed so as to require all bearing piles and floor beams of said wharf to be of iron or steel instead of wood, and to enlarge the dimensions of the said wharf as designed, and make 400FIFTIETH CONGRESS.
Sess. I. Chs. 859, 860. 1888. such, other modifications in the plans and specifications as may be required to meet the necessities of commerce, for which purpose the Appropriation.sum of seventy-five thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to be immediately available, be, and the same is hereby, appropriated out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated. Approved, August 10, 1888. Chapter 860: making appropriations for the construction, repair, and preservation of Certain public works on rivers and harbors, and for other purposes.
