CHAP. 790.— An act providing for the holding of the United States courts in the city of Newark, New Jersey.August 8, 1888. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,New Jersey.Causes in United States courts may be tried in Newark. That at each term of the circuit and district courts of the United States to be holden in and for the district of New Jersey, it shall be lawful for the judge FIFTIETH CONGRESS. Sess.

S., secs. 572, 658, pp. 100, 121](/us/rs/s572/658/pp100/121). cause set for trial or hearing at said term, to order such cause to be heard or tried at the city of Newark, in said district, upon a day set for that purpose by said judge; *Provided*, Such application shall be*Proviso*. made to such judge, either in vacation or term time, at least one week before the elate set for the trial of said cause, and on at least five days notice to the opposite party, or his or her counsel: andNotice.Summons. writs of subpoena to compel the attendance of witnesses at said city of Newark may issue, and jurors summoned to attend said term may be ordered by said judge or judges to be in attendance upon said court in the city of Newark.
