CHAP. 1222.— An act making an appropriation for the enforcement of the Chinese exclusion act.October 19, 1888. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Chinese exclusion.Appropriation for expenses.*Ante*, p. 504. That for the purpose of carrying into effect the provisions of the act approved October first, eighteen hundred and eighty-eight, entitled “An act a supplement to an act entitled ‘An act to execute certain Treaty Stipulations Relating to Chinese,’” approved the sixth day of May,Vol. 22, p. 59. eighteen hundred and eighty-two, and to defray the expenses which may be incurred in the enforcement of said act by the Secretary of the Treasury during the fiscal year eighteen hundred and eighty-nine, the sum of fifty thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
