CHAP. 159.— An act to vacate and close an alley in square five hundred and four in Washington, District of Columbia.March 3, 1881. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Alley in square 504, Washington, D. C., Commissioners may sell to Washington and Georgetown Railroad Company. That the Commissioners of the District of Columbia, in their discretion, are hereby authorized and empowered to sell and convey to the Washington and Georgetown Railroad Company the ground occupied by the alley running north and south in square five hundred and four, between lots eight, nine, and ten, in the city of Washington, District of Columbia, and to vacate and close up said alley :*Provisos*. *Provided*, That said ground shall not be sold at a price below the average assessed value of the lands in said square: *And provided further*, That the Commissioners aforesaid shall deposit in the Treasury of the United States, to the credit of the general fund of the District of Columbia, the purchase money paid by said Washington and Georgetown Railroad Company Approved, March 3, 1881.
