Chap. IV.— An Act *authorizing the Secretary of the Treasury to change the Names of Vessels in certain Cases.* March 5, 1856.Repealed 1859. ch. 8. *Post,* p. 375. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and hereby is, authorized to permit the owner or owners ofAuthority for change of names of vessels. any vessel to change the name of the same, when, in bis opinion, there shall be sufficient cause for so doing; and he may establish such rules and regulations as he shall deem proper for that purpose.
