A. The Department of Human Services shall require, as a condition of participation, that parents or guardians receiving benefits pursuant to the Aid to Families with Dependent Children
(AFDC)program participate in a parent education program or enlist
or enroll their child or children in a Head Start program, a Parents as Teachers program, a local early childhood education program for four-year-old children, if available, in kindergarten programs, or in schooling deemed appropriate by school authorities, unless the child is being home educated as per the Oklahoma Constitution and statutes.
B. The Department shall allow parents or guardians who attend all parent-teacher conferences requested by teachers or other officials, or who participate in parent education programs offered by a school district to apply an equivalent amount of time towards any work experience or job training requirements.
