Before entering upon the discharge of the duties of his office, each member of the commission shall take oath that he will well and faithfully execute the duties of his office according to the laws of the State, and shall give bond to the State of New Jersey, with sufficient surety to be approved by the Governor, in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) conditioned that he will well and faithfully execute and perform the duties of his office according to the Constitution and laws of this State.
Every such bond, when duly executed and approved, shall be filed in the office of the Secretary of State. It shall be the duty of the Governor at all times, when in his opinion the bond of any member of the commission has become or is likely to become invalid or insufficient, to require such member of the commission forthwith to renew his said bond to be approved by the Governor in the sum prescribed in this section. The cost of any such bond given by any member of the commission under this section shall be taken to be a part of the necessary expenses of the commission.
