40:56-10. Copy of award filed; title vested; right of entry

Except as provided in article four of this chapter (s. 40:56-58 et seq.), as to cities of the first class, upon the acceptance of any such award or payment thereof into the Superior Court, title to the real estate or interest therein shall vest in the municipality, which may thereupon enter upon and take possession of such real estate or interest therein and remove all persons therefrom, and a duplicate original of the award as confirmed or a copy thereof certified by the municipal clerk as a true copy of the award as confirmed by the governing body shall be recorded in the county in which the municipality is situated in the record of deeds for such county.

The officer in charge of such office shall cause the names of the owner or owners of the property taken as shown by such award to be indexed under "grantors" in the index of deeds for such county, and the names of mortgages named in such award under "releasors" in the index of releases of mortgages for such county. A copy of the map shall be filed in the same office.
