Every such incorporated congregation may affiliate itself with a constituent synod or district of the Lutheran Church or its successor but, after any such affiliation, may not withdraw therefrom except as provided in the constitution and by-laws of the synod or district or the laws of the church. Any Lutheran Church which has heretofore been incorporated under any law of this State, by a majority vote of its members at a regular, annual or at a special meeting to be called for the purpose, may accept the provisions of this act and thereby and thereafter become subject to the provisions of this act.
Any such acceptance shall be evidenced by the filing of a certificate in the office of the Secretary of State, which shall substantially set forth the proceedings of the meeting of acceptance. Any such certificate shall be filed and acknowledged in manner similar to that required by this act for the execution, filing and recording of a certificate of incorporation, as provided in this act. The Secretary of State and the county clerk shall be entitled to the same fees as in the case of the filing and recording of certificates of incorporation under this act.
