Section 116A. In the event of a fire, explosion or other disaster, fire fighters and police officers shall permit any officer or servant of a gas or electric company who is duly authorized and displays an identification badge, as provided in section one hundred and sixteen, to enter any area or building in order to shut off the gas or electricity, which is or may become a source of danger to the public.
