(a)The department shall adopt regulations to require a person who possesses a domestic swine that has two or more phenotypical characteristics specified in subparagraph
(B)of paragraph
(1)of subdivision
(a)of Section 4650 of the Fish and Game Code to identify the swine with a brand, tattoo, or other permanent mark or visible validation approved by the department.
(b)This section shall become operative on July 1, 2024.
