Section 603 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 ( 50 U.S.C. 1873 ) is amended— by redesignating subsections
(f)and
(g)as subsections
(g)and (h), respectively; and by inserting after subsection
(e)the following: In April each year, the Attorney General shall submit to the appropriate committees of Congress and publish on the website of the Department of Justice, subject to a declassification review, a report setting forth, with respect to the preceding calendar year, the following: A summary of all accuracy or completeness reviews of applications for court orders submitted to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court by the Federal Bureau of Investigation under this Act. The total number of such applications reviewed for accuracy or completeness. The total number of material errors or omissions identified during such reviews. The total number of nonmaterial errors or omissions identified during such reviews. The total number of instances in which facts contained in an application were not supported by documentation that existed in the applicable file being reviewed at the time of the review. An explanation for any increase or decrease in the number of errors identified under subparagraphs
(C)and (D), and in the event of an increase in the number of errors, a description of any action taken by the Department to improve compliance and accuracy. In addition to conducting audits under section 501 of the Government Surveillance Reform Act of 2026 , the Inspector General of the Department of Justice shall— periodically assess the reports required by paragraph (1); and as determined by the Inspector General, report any risks identified through such assessments to the appropriate committees of Congress. In this subsection, the term appropriate committees of Congress has the meaning given that term in section 101. .
