An institution, athletic department, conference, athletic association, or any representative of such an entity may not punish a student athlete based on the student athlete having entered into a professional sports draft, if the student athlete— does not receive compensation directly or indirectly, from a professional sports league or team; and not later than 7 days after the completion of the draft, declares their intent to resume participation in college athletic competition.
