An accrediting agency or association that is required to notify the Secretary of Education and the appropriate State licensing or authorizing agency of the final denial, withdrawal, suspension, or termination of accreditation of an institution pursuant to section 496 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 1099b ) shall also notify the Secretary of Homeland Security and Secretary of State of such determination within 30 days of such withdrawal, suspension, or termination. Upon receipt of the notification described in paragraph (1), the Secretary of Homeland Security shall terminate the approval of such institution under subparagraph
(F)or
(M)of section 101(a)(15) of the Immigration and Nationality Act ( 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15) ).
