Section 4862 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— in subsection (c), by striking Subsection
(a)and inserting
(1)Except as provided by paragraph (2), subsection
(a); and by inserting after paragraph
(1)the following new paragraph: If the Secretary of Defense or the Secretary of the military department concerned applies the exception set forth in this subsection for the procurement of any clothing and the materials and components thereof or any item listed in subsection (b)(1)(D), no contract may be awarded for the procurement of any such items produced in the People's Republic of China, Iran, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, or the Russian Federation. . The amendments made by subsection
(a)shall apply only with respect to agreements entered into on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.
