There is authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary for fiscal year 2025 $15,000,000,000, to remain available until the end of fiscal year 2034, to make grants under the Continuum of Care Program authorized under subtitle C of title IV of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act ( 42 U.S.C. 11381 et seq. ). Of amounts appropriated under subsection
(a)for a fiscal year, not less than 50 percent shall be used for permanent housing for homeless individuals with disabilities and homeless families that include such an individual who is an adult or a minor head of household if no adult is present in the household. In awarding grants using amounts appropriated under subsection (a), the Secretary shall prioritize funding for applicants that provide documentation of coordination with certain systems serving young people and can answer questions regarding how the applicant works with child welfare organizations, the juvenile and adult justice system, and institutions of mental and physical health to ensure that participants in the programs are not released into homelessness.
