Not later than 2 years after the date of enactment of this Act, and not less frequently than once every 2 years thereafter, the Secretaries, acting through the United States Fire Administration, shall submit to the relevant committees of Congress an assessment of the Community Wildfire Risk Reduction Program established under section 201(a) that— assesses the management, coordination, implementation, and effectiveness of program activities; suggests improvements for improving the coordination and engagement of the program with States, Indian Tribes, units of local government, and at-risk communities; assesses trends and developments in science and engineering relating to wildfire risk reduction in the built environment, land use planning, and vegetation management that could be used to improve the effectiveness or efficiency of the program; provides recommendations to improve the ability of the program to provide financial or technical assistance to States, Indian Tribes, units of local government, and at-risk communities; identifies opportunities to modify existing requirements for Federal assistance or programs that support community wildfire risk reduction to improve the delivery, effectiveness, or availability of those assistance or programs; and includes policy and program recommendations to improve that program, as determined by the United States Fire Administration.
