Section 243 of the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act ( 29 U.S.C. 3333 ) is amended— in subsection (a), by striking , in combination with integrated education and training activities ; and in subsection (c), by striking designed and all that follows through the period at the end and inserting the following: designed to prepare adults who are English learners for full participation in the economic, educational, and civic life of the community, which may include integration with the local workforce development system. .
