Beginning on the date that is 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, and annually thereafter, the Attorney General, in coordination with the Secretary of Homeland Security, shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report on the propagation of extremist ideologies in public institutions and law enforcement organizations, including prisons and law enforcement units. For the purposes of the report described under this subsection, the term the appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate.
The report shall be unclassified but may contain a classified annex. Beginning on the date that is 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, and every 90 days thereafter, the Attorney General, in coordination with the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and the Director of National Intelligence shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report— assessing the scope of the threat of domestic terrorism in the United States as of the date of the report; and reporting on any actions taken during the reporting period to combat such threat.
For the purposes of the report described under this subsection, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on the Judiciary, the Committee on Homeland Security and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on the Judiciary, the Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs, and the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate. The report shall be unclassified but may contain a classified annex.
