Title I of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 ( 29 U.S.C. 411 et seq. ) is amended by adding at the end the following: No labor organization may endorse a candidate in an election for the office of President of the United States unless the labor organization— polls the members of the labor organization with respect to such an endorsement; and discloses the result of the poll described in paragraph
(1)to the members of the labor organization. . The amendment made by this Act shall take effect on the date that is 12 months after the date of enactment of this Act.
